Montrose 0-1 Annan Athletic- Report

Last updated : 22 January 2011 By DSG

Annan Athletic kept up the hunt for a play-off spot with a last minute 1-0 away win at Montrose.

Defender Kevin Nielsen headed home the winner in stoppage time to move Athletic up to 24 points and just three shy of the top four.

Steven Sloan's deep cross from the right wing was met by Nielsen for his first of the campaign.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Montrose, who had their fair share of chances during the game.

Hugh Davidson saw his drilled left-foot volley blocked whilst Dougie Cameron saw his 20-yard effort just fly over the bar.

Montrose remain third bottom after the defeat, after East Stirling's game at Arbroath was earlier called off due to the weather.
