Annan Athletic V Berwick at Galabank Stadium - Match Preview

Annan short of numbers

Annan manager Jim Chapman faces a selection nightmare ahead of kick-off against Berwick Rangers.

Iain Chisholm (knee) and Steven Logan (foot) are ruled out and a further seven players are rated as doubts.

Matty Flynn and Kenny Mackay have been ill while goalkeeper Kenny Arthur, Stephen Swinglehurst, Peter Weatherston, David Hopkirk and Ally Love are all struggling with knocks.

Chapman said: "We are still sore mentally after losing to Stenhousemuir in midweek after being two goals ahead and we could go into this game low on numbers.

"If the side we put out cuts out mistakes at the back then we can win this one."

The Borderers will have Paul Grant back in goal at Galabank with goalkeeping coach Gary O'Connor on the bench as Billy Bald is injured.

Defender Dougie Brydon continues to be out for Ian Little's side with a groin injury.

Rangers' midweek game with Montrose called off due to a floodlight failure.

Manager Little said: "We had been hoping to pick something up on Tuesday to move off second bottom spot. It was a real disappointment that the game never got played and now we will just have to win this one to get us moving up the way."
