Former Hamilton defender Finnie and Weatherson boost Annan

Leaders Annan will include new signing Ryan Finnie in their squad for the home game against Elgin.

Former Hamilton and Partick defender Finnie will be joined in the squad by experienced forward Peter Weatherson, who has missed the last two games due to a back injury.

Manager Jim Chapman said: "We played really well to win at Berwick Rangers last weekend and need to play like that again to defeat an Elgin side that are going to be strong all season.

"It's good to have Peter available as he offers something different in terms of an attacking threat and that could be required to separate the sides."

Elgin will be without the suspended Mark Nicolson after his sending off in the 3-1 defeat to Queen's Park last weekend.

Jamie Duff and Marc McKenzie are both injury doubts as Jim Weir's side look to address a decline in results away from home.

Weir said: "We won 3-0 on the first day of the season at Arbroath, but since then have lost to East Fife, Montrose and Queen's Park and that is very disappointing.

"We have not played as well in those games as we have at home. It is something that I would like us to put right sooner rather than later. Winning at Annan would be a great start."
